We are allowed to use them but I try to make sure there are appropriate for my kids. Another way to bring about home/school connections is to have family projects. We have one family project a month. It is usually an art project that goes on our board in the hall way. The first one is decorating a bear in the families favorite team, any sport! Our board title is "Our 'Beary' favorite teams" It's really cute and the parents really get into it! My rule is everyone in the family gets to help on the project, the children share their project with the class before we place it on the board.Tonyahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06336653479677352247noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1139267038363003129.post-1258160202424880882010-02-02T10:22:46.362-05:002010-02-02T10:22:46.362-05:00Hi, Ayn! I like to send home things for the families to do together as well. Worksheets in ECE is such a debate lately. We have journals with blank paper that the children can 'write' in, practice letters/numbers, etc., or just draw. Sometimes we have a topic, sometimes it's write what you want. We can only hope that we prepare them enough to send them off to 'big school'. :) I think what you are doing is fantastic. And, who wouldn't be a great teacher without having a little rebel in them? :)Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09638036458628891597noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1139267038363003129.post-81715529493039392572010-02-01T18:12:36.327-05:002010-02-01T18:12:36.327-05:00Wow! I somehow missed the "No more LOTW" article. We are not allowed to do that anymore, and I have had to really work hark the past two years to redefine how I present some of the information. Thanks for stopping by my blog--visit anytime! :)Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13798516846017108647noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1139267038363003129.post-33596277117350302072010-02-01T07:49:05.696-05:002010-02-01T07:49:05.696-05:00Love your blog!
